GFC Activities
With the two first successful editions in the Philippines in 1999 and Brazil in 2000, The " Authentic Adventure " is becoming the flagship international multi-sports expedition race. It was created by Gérard Fusil, also at the origin of the " Raid Gauloises " that he organized from 1989 to 1997. ELF group was the title sponsor of the " Authentic Adventure " till Total-Fina buys it in 2000.
A NEW CONCEPT
The " Authentic Adventure " combines an expedition, a sports competition in the respect for nature and gives a large importance to the realization of the exchange programs with the local population. Three classifications group together, within one same adventure, the best sports specialists in the world with less hardened competitors. Competitors and organizers totally respect the cultural tradtions of the host countries, the barriers of languages are collapsing.
ORIGINAL PRINCIPLES
An itinerary of several hundred kilometres in the most remote lands of the world, A total and continuous orienteering competition lasting over 12 days, requiring both mental and physical strength, Various environment-friendly means of progress, Completely autonomous teams consisting of seven people, including at least two women : four sports competitors + three members of a moving base camp, Three classifications adapted to the level of preparation and the motivations of the competitors (Extrem, Adventure, Discovery), Exchange programs based on the fundamental needs of living in a community, enabling every team to forge genuine ties with the local population, An international dimension (competitors from more than 30 countries and media repercussions in more than 150 countries during the 2000 edition).

NEXT EDITION
Elf group recently merged under central of Total-Fina group which chose to apply its own communication strategy. Thus, the five-year contract we had firmed with Elf is over in spite of the media success of the event. The negociations with the new title partner are going very well and we will announce soon its name and the destination and the dates of the next edition of the Authentic Adventure. We already can advise the competitors to reserve soon for an exceptionnal event in a fabulous country which offers beautiful and surprising landscapes.
The officialization is imminent.
